Fidelity is currently recruiting for a large-scale non-medical transcription project beginning imminently. This project is expected to be around three years in duration, with an option to renew at conclusion. We are actively seeking transcribers to fulfill the requirements of this project.
Do you meet ALL these criteria?
- possess PC (not MAC) with ability to download up to 30 MB per day
- native English speaker
- US- or Canada-based, or close familiarity with US accents
- minimum one year’s experience as a transcriber
- excellent command of English language, grammar and punctuation
The project consists of the transcription of a large amount of archived interview footage, mostly one-on-one speakers dubbed to mp3. A wide range of subjects are covered in the interviews, so although 100% accuracy is not insisted upon, transcribers must possess a good general knowledge in order to render as much vocabulary as possible.
To be considered for this work, applicants must have a reasonable availability of at least 20 hours working time per week. Turnarounds for this project are not urgent, and transcript delivery within 5-7 days will be acceptable. We emphasize the importance of meeting deadlines, and repeated failure to meet deadlines will lead to non-renewal of contract.
